On Saturday 19th May 2012 join us in our annual Kenmare walk.
This year there are two walk options:
The Walk
Both walks will leave from the same point and return to the same point-
The trailhead at Molly Gallivan’s Tourist Centre, Bonane, Co. Kerry.
Walk Option 1
(Difficulty- Easy)
“Druids Loop”
Distance: 5km | High/Ascent: 200m/80m | Time: 1hr 30 mins- 2 hours
Terrain: Laneways, woodland tracks, cross county, hillside.
Walk Option 2
(Difficulty- Hard)
“Cailleach Beara Loop”
Distance: 12km | High/Ascent: 390m/450 | Time: 4-5 hrs
Terrain: Laneways, woodland tracks, cross country, hillside.
(The Kenmare Walking club will be leading both walks.)
Bonane is situated on the N71- midway between the towns of Kenmare and Glengarriff road. From Kenmare, take the N71 in the direction of Glengarriff. After approximately 10km you pass through a small village of Bonane- continue for a further 2km to reach the Church in Bonane, parking is available here and we will transport our walkers to Molly Gallivans.
