Welcome

Brú Columbanus is an independent charity that provides "home from home" accommodation for relatives of seriously ill patients in any of the Cork Hospitals and the Hospice.

The name Brú comes from the Irish for hostel. It was established in 2005 under the auspices of the Knights of Columbanus from whom the name is derived, and together with the Department of Health, the HSE, Cork City Council and Voluntary Contributions funded the €5.5 million cost of the project. Families are accommodated in the house free of charge in a safe, warm, welcoming, caring environment and can relax and feel at home with other families.
